Bladnoch is one of the most southerly distilleries in Scotland – it sits in the Lowland area of Dumfries & Galloway and is further south than the English city of Newcastle. The distillery was founded by brothers John and Thomas McClelland in 1817 and remained in the family for almost a century. It has been through multiple ownership changes in the last century and is now independently owned. Australian entrepreneur David Prior took control in 2015 after the previous owners went into liquidation. The spirit is classic Lowland style – light, delicate and grassy with an elegant fruitiness and sweetness. Prior has launched an extensive core range, which is often joined by limited small batch releases.
