Dailuaine was founded in 1852 by William Mackenzie and is near the hamlet of Carron in the Speyside region. It was the first distilleries in Scotland to have a pagoda style kiln roof, now a distinctive and iconic characteristic of a Scotch whisky distillery. This was designed by distillery architect Charles Doig using a design like a Japanese pagoda. Dailuaine is owned by Diageo and is a key ingredient in several popular blends, primarily Johnnie Walker. The bold, savoury and robust spirit is highly regarded amongst blenders for adding structure, depth and complexity to the final product. The only core product sits in Diageo’s Flora & Fauna range and has a cult following.
