Glen Grant was founded in 1840 by brothers James and John Grant in the town of Rothes. This sits in the centre of the Speyside region. Under Major James Grant, James’ son who inherited the distillery upon his death, the distillery became highly innovative. He introduced electricity, plus the tall slender stills and purifiers that helped shape its famously light, fruity character. Glen Grant became a major international success, particularly in Italy from the 1960s onwards. It passed through several ownership changes before becoming part of Italian-owned Gruppo Campari n 2006. Today it is one of the best-known Speyside single malts, widely recognised for its elegance, freshness and accessibility.
