Glenburgie is a large distillery and one that exists to supply single malt to the Ballantine’s range of blended Scotch whiskies. It was founded in 1810 by William Paul near the Speyside town of Forres. It was originally named as Kilnflat. It was rebuilt and renamed as Glenburgie during the 19th century. Glenburgie is now part of Chivas Brothers and was rebuilt again in the early 2000s. While relatively obscure as a single malt, and with few official bottlings in existence, Glenburgie is valued for a delicate Speyside character. It is also the distillery that produced the liquid for our first ever Whisky 1901 bottling – The Collection: Part One – Glenburgie 35 Years Old. This won Best Single Cask Single Malt for Speyside at The World Whisky Awards 2025.
